  will bethel disfellowship married elders who commit adultry or hide them?

  some are high ranking and their adultry is widely known.

  the thing about bethel is everyone lies says they don't remember etc.... these elders have no integrity and they don't care about the well being, goals and reputation of their organization.. they want to have their fun and risk everything and everyones future while hiding out at wt.

  even their wives know and keep quiet.

  I personally know of an Elder who made passes at a married woman (who was not a Witness), even going so far as to grope her, in public, in front of a Ministerial Servant. He was privately reproved, still retained his Elder status in the Congretation. How am I so sure this is what happened? Because, bad boy that I was, I was sleeping with the married woman at the time ( I was disfellowshipped at the time ) and she was not only in total shock that he had the testicle fortitude to do this in public, but also that nothing at all happened to him within the organization!

  hello to all, just trying to find a few old friends of mine from the cincinnati ohio area.

  i haven't been around for a while, as my job took me to colorado for a while, but now i'm back and trying to catch up with a few pals.

  i am not currently disfellowshipped, though i am inactive.

  Does it EVER! I had the best years of my life as a Dubya with the Goets boys....Matt, Marty, Monty....

  I'll never forget the time we went pumpkin smashing ( I was reproved ), sneaking up on cars in the firehouse parking field and wiped stuff on the door handles ( the elders found out about this as well, reproved again ). Bill G. HATED me, but I couldn't blame him, I was worthless and shifty and he could read right thru me, all in all he was one helluva guy. Maria was absolutely beautiful, and probably still is. As for me, NO-ONE in the world recognize me now, shaved head ( from what I understand this is now considered worldly ), goatee, tattoos, karaoke-singing at the bars ( Big NO-NO ), still visiting my old stomping ground out at Lebo's and Bobby Mackies.....

  Been married and divorced since then, married a stripper I met at a club, caught her in the act and walked out, never went back. Life is good.

  You wouldn't happen to know how the Goetz's are doing would you? Or how about Shannon Dixon, Maria Jones, Troy somebody, can't remember his last name, had a sister who was dissed, had a book study at his parents house. Do you know any of the Tabith Mirick or Rob Vaugn?

  Getting drunk a sin?

  i have a pretty interesting perspective on this.....especially since i once had all of my privledges removed because i had admitted to an elder that i was hungover..... the scriptures state that drunkards will not inherit gods' kingdom, nor will gluttons.... gluttony is the practice of over-eating, much the same is being a drunkard is one who is continuously drunk.

  so, in my feeble mind, getting drunk "once-in-a-while" is not a sin, just the same as overeating at mcdonalds or at grandma's house is not a sin.. am i incorrect in my reasoning?.

  Gluttony is the PRACTICE of over-eating, much the same is being a drunkard is one who is CONTINUOUSLY drunk. So, in my feeble mind, getting drunk "once-in-a-while" is not a sin, just the same as overeating at McDonalds or at Grandma's house is not a sin.

  Am I incorrect in my reasoning?

  Facial Hair and J.W.'s

  i have always wondered why witnesses are not "allowed" to have facial hair.

  when i asked a local elder just a few weeks ago (he had no idea i was inactive, just happened to bump into him while my parents were visiting from out of town), his explanation was that "in some countries, it is totally acceptable to have beards, goatees etc...., but in the u.s. of a., facial hair is a sign of rebellion.

  so, the local or territorial opinions on beards is what drives the local congregations policies.

  With regards to wearing what is seen in the Watchtower and Awake....

  Sure, I don't see any Brothers wearing beards, but I do see Brothers wearing the typical "Bahama Look", (flowered shorts), Sisters with large flowered "Turbans", typical of Tropical areas of the world. So if Witnesses are to follow what is seen in the publications, what do you the Elders would do if Brother Ministerial Servant were to show up for a Sunday meeting in flowered shorts and sandals?

  Have you commited the unforgivable sin?

  the ultimate taboo of being a jw is the unforgivable sin, a direct action of going against the leadings of the holy spirit.

  did this used to bother you, and do you think you are seen by jw's as having committed it?

  for instance, is apostasy the only occurance of it, or in you opinion would it include adultery etc.

  Interesting question, and one that used to, and still does scare the hell outta me. When I was younger and actively involved in the religion, I used to pray and pray for Gods' holy spirit to help me not masturbate (embarrasing, I know). Yet I would give in to temptation and do it again and again. So was I sinning against the holy spirit by this simple act?

Interesting, I was always taught that Witnesses were to be separate from the world, would this not also mean that the IDEAS AND OPINIONS of the world should not sway the religions teachings one way or the other?
